Health permissions
Tempovi gets all of its data from Apple Health, and it reads that data on your iPhone. If a permission is off, the scores that depend on it stay empty. This page explains what each permission is used for and how to fix missing data.
What Tempovi reads
Section titled “What Tempovi reads”| Data | Used for |
|---|---|
| Workouts, heart rate, distance, running power, cadence | Training load, run detail, statistics |
| Heart-rate variability, heartbeat series, resting heart rate | Recovery score, HRV readings, Body Battery and stress |
| Sleep | Sleep score, sleep needed, sleep bank |
| Respiratory rate, blood oxygen, wrist temperature | Recovery, illness early warning |
| Ground contact time, vertical oscillation, stride length | Running form on each run |
| VO₂ max, active and resting energy, exercise time, steps | Trends, energy balance, Body Battery |
| Body weight | Training load, Biology |
| Body fat, lean mass, blood pressure, blood glucose, BMI, waist | Biology only. These are requested the first time you open Biology. |
What Tempovi writes
Section titled “What Tempovi writes”- Workouts and routes — runs and strength sessions you record with Tempovi, including the GPS route for outdoor runs.
- Lab values (weight, blood pressure, glucose) — only when you tap Write to Apple Health after importing lab results.
Tempovi doesn’t write food data to Apple Health.
How to turn permissions on
Section titled “How to turn permissions on”- Open the Health app on your iPhone.
- Tap your profile picture (top right).
- Under Privacy, tap Apps.
- Tap Tempovi.
- Tap Turn On All, or switch on the individual types you want.
You can also get there through Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › Tempovi on your iPhone.
After reinstalling the watch app
Section titled “After reinstalling the watch app”If you delete and reinstall Tempovi on your Apple Watch, or reinstall the app, iOS can reset its Health access. When that happens, runs recorded on the watch may not save, or new data stops showing up.
To fix it, re-approve the access on your iPhone:
- Open the Health app.
- Tap your profile picture › Apps › Tempovi.
- Tap Turn On All. Make sure Workouts and Workout Routes are allowed under Allow Tempovi to write.
- Open Tempovi on the iPhone and pull down on the home screen to refresh.
Still missing data?
Section titled “Still missing data?”- Recovery or sleep is empty for last night — check that you wore the watch to bed and that sleep tracking with Apple Watch is turned on (Health app › Browse › Sleep). Without overnight data, Tempovi marks the day as an estimate.
- Running form is blank — ground contact, vertical oscillation and stride length are only recorded for outdoor runs on supported watches, and their permissions are asked for separately. Check that they’re turned on.
- Older runs are missing in Statistics — go to Settings › Data & Privacy and tap Refresh all history (multi-year).
More fixes are in Troubleshooting.
